Shuruq Tramontini

Shuruq Tramontini is a media artist and creative technologist based in Los Angeles. Working with game engines and interactive media, she explores world building and storytelling through game play, game mechanisms, and interactive media. She uses game engines and real time as a poetic medium, allowing ambiguity and surprise for narrative fictions, where the viewer has space to make up their own stories and is an active participant to experience the world. These worlds retell new narratives and explore and redefine geomythologies that are informed by technology and speculate on ecology and culture, ecosystems and crisis, home and identity.

In the past she has worked as the Lead Unity Artist for the anime series Life After Bob: The Chalice Study by Ian Cheng, as well as for Common’Hood, a first person PC game by Plethora Projects. She was also the Creative Technical Lead on a realtime project for Pierre Huyghe.

Currently, she is an adjunct faculty at SCI ARC’s MSC Fiction and Entertainment program. She studied Architecture at the Technical University Vienna, Städelschule Frankfurt and at SCI-Arc.
